GLAHCO Holding Company Limited is a joint venture between the Libyan Arab African Investment Company (LAAICO) and the Government of Ghana, holding 60% and 40% equities respectively. Established in 1982 with its head office in Accra, GLAHCO is primarily an investment company with interests in hotel and tourism development, commercial agriculture, trade and commerce, and real estate development. GLAHCO also developed the GLAHCO Oxford Street Mall in 2012, a bonded warehouse in Tema in 2009, and real estate properties in Labone, Asylum Down and Cantonments. Its subsidiaries include GLAHCO Hotels & Tourism Development Company Limited (GHTDCO) and Ghana Libyan-Arab Agricultural Company Ltd (GLAACO).

GLAHCO HOTELS AND TOURISM DEVELOPMENT COMPANY LIMITED

GLAHCO Hotels and Tourism Development Company Limited (GHTDCO), established in 1992, focuses on hotel and tourism development. It owns The Lancaster Accra, a 4-star hotel with 234 rooms, and renovated the Lancaster Kumasi City Hotel with 186 rooms in 2008.

GHANA LIBYAN-ARAB AGRICULTURAL COMPANY (GLAACO)

Established in 1982, the Ghana Libyan-Arab Agricultural Company (GLAACO) acquired 8,467 acres near Sogakope, Volta Region, for commercial farming, primarily cultivating 500 acres of mangoes, making it Ghana's largest mango plantation. GLAACO won multiple farming awards, packaged produce for local and export markets, and partnered with Messrs Roses and Lilies for flower cultivation. Since 2022, GLAACO has collaborated with Samisila Ltd. to develop 5,000 acres for various agricultural products.

Executive Management

Mr. Ahmed Ali Mohamed Duow

General Manager (Projects Development and Operations)
Mr. Ahmed Ali Mohamed Duow became the General Manager (Project and Development Operations) of Ghana Libyan-Arab Holding Company Limited and GLAHCO Hotels and Tourism Development Company Limited in June 2022, appointed by the Libyan Government. He previously served as a Board Member for the Libyan Arab Investment Company Limited (LAICO) in Chad (2016), Kenya (2019), and Sudan (2021). He was the Managing Director of LAICOLAP Investment Company in Sudan from 2021 to January 2022. Before joining LAICO, he worked at Maritime Industry and Maintenance Company as Chief Accountant and Internal Auditor and was the Head of Cost Account at Apr Alqemam Contracting and Real Estate Investment Company. Mr. Duow holds a Master's degree in Accounting from Academy Graduate Studies and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Misrata. He is a Libyan.

Mr. Eiad El-Tashani

Mr. EL -Tashani is a seasoned legal and corporate executive with extensive experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, international business operations, and strategic leadership across Africa and the Middle East.Prior to his appointment as Managing Director and a Board Member of GLAHCO and GHTDCO, he served as Chief of Legal Affairs at LAICO, where he led complex legal, regulatory, and commercial matters, including international arbitration, cross-border negotiations, corporate restructuring, and investment transactions.Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership and advisory roles, providing strategic guidance on governance, risk management, compliance, and institutional development. He is recognized for his ability to navigate complex business environments, strengthen corporate governance frameworks, and deliver effective legal and commercial solutions.With a strong foundation in law and specialized training in international arbitration, strategic planning, cybersecurity, and corporate restructuring, he continues to drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation at GLAHCO.

NIGEL AKRONG

Chief Accountant
Nigel Akrong is a skilled finance professional with expertise in financial reporting, banking, auditing, and organizational development. He holds an Executive Master’s in Finance and a Bachelor’s in Administration from the University of Ghana and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana. With over a decade of experience, he has served as Head of Finance at Forms Capital and Access Bank (Ghana) Ltd., and has held key finance roles at Horizon Finance & Leasing Company and APED, an NGO affiliated with World Vision.

MS. ARABA QUAGRAINE

Head (Administration and Human Resources)
Araba is a result-oriented HR professional with over 24 years of experience in HR management, administration, and Employment Law. She has excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, and is adaptable to different business lines and management styles. With over four years in project management support and experience in corporate legal practice, she combines her legal and HR expertise to add value to her practice.A self-motivated team player, Araba aims to help organizations achieve their strategic goals. She holds an LLB from the University of London, a Qualifying Certificate in Law from the Ghana Law School, an MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Ghana, and degrees in Secretaryship and Education from the University of Cape Coast. In December 2014, she received the top paper award in Employment Relations from the ABE. Araba also has academia experience, having lectured on various HR and management subjects.

PIUS MENSAH AHIAGBE

Head (Internal Audit)
Pius Mensah Ahiagbe is an accounting professional with over 10 years of experience in internal control and auditing in the financial, hospitality, and real estate industries. Before joining the Ghana Libyan Arab Holding Company (GLAHCO), he worked in the Internal Control/Audit department at United Bank for Africa Ghana Limited. Pius is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG), the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA-UK), and the Institute of Internal Auditors Ghana & Global. He holds an Executive MBA from Universidad Catolica De Murcia, Spain (UCAM), and a First-Class Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Administration (Accounting) from the University of Ghana Business School.

CECIL KOJO FORDE

Head (Regulatory, Risk and Compliance)
Cecil Kojo Forde is the Head of Regulatory, Risk, and Compliance at GLAHCO, a role he has held since January 2021. He joined GLAHCO in June 2012 as Head of Internal Audit and has over 20 years of experience in internal controls, auditing, and accounting. Before GLAHCO, Cecil was the head of internal audit at MASLOC from 2010 to 2012 and began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers Ghana in 2002. He holds a Commonwealth Executive MBA from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Ghana. Cecil is a Chartered Accountant, a Fellow of the ACCA, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG).

Engr. ERIC ATTA-SONNO

Head (Projects Development and Operations)
Engr. Eric Atta-Sonno is a Civil Engineer and Facilities Manager with extensive experience in estates, maintenance, engineering services, and facilities management. He holds a Higher National Diploma from Accra Technical University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Real Estate, Construction, and Affordable Housing from Erasmus University, The Netherlands. He also has a Full Technological Certificate and Construction Technician’s Certificates Parts 1 and 2.Eric is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (Ghana), a Member of the Ghana Institute of Construction, and an Incorporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Construction (UK). He also serves on the Governing Board of the Engineering Council, Ghana. Engr. Atta-Sonno has worked on numerous projects involving new construction, facility rehabilitation, building engineering services, maintenance management, and estate functions. He joined GLAHCO in 2008.
